HON: Moon Queen
Starting Items
Your starting items as MQ are completely up to you. Assuming you have 603 gold at the start of your game, you can go with Trinket of Restoration 375 and several Minor Totems 53. If you are soloing mid--the preferred lane--go with a Bottle 600.

This is a build that separates the newbie from the experienced player. Newbies tend to believe that getting a skill is better than getting stats--in many cases, this is not true. Players like to level up Multi-Strike early, but what's the point? Multi-Strike sucks if you don't do any damage, and you'll just end up pushing the lane. Lunar Glow is nice to have, since it does give damage, but your base HP and Mana are low, and low levels of Lunar Glow don't give you enough damage, so Stats are the better choice.
The Unstoppable Mid-Solo Moon Queen
1. Buy a Bottle 600.
2. Attack only to last-hit and deny. Use low-level Moon Beam to get last-hits if necessary. Your mana pool can handle it with Bottle.
3. When you push into the river, move upriver slightly to check runes every 2 minutes. Once you've ascertained the rune location, Bottle it. If opponent goes for rune, outrun him using your superior movement speed (320) and use Moon Beam to ministun if needed.
4. Once level 5, use Moon Beam to harass. Keep at least 150 mana in stock for Moon Finale at level 6.
5. Congratulations, you are now level 6 and unstoppable. Apply pressure by placing yourself in offensive positions. Keep your opponent out of XP range. You are now the undisputed owner of all runes. Go after EACH AND EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM. If your opponent attempts to grab a rune, follow him--once you are in the river, use Moon Finale to kill.
The only heroes that have a chance to stop this are Thunderbringer and Pyromancer, who can nuke you to death despite your Bottle.
Item Build
Post Haste 2700: Marchers 500 + Recipe 2200
A great item for survivability, ganking, and all-around map presence.
Soulscream Ring 460: Duck Boots 150 + Pretender's Crown 185 + Recipe 125
Get a lot of these. Alternatively, get Fortified Bracelets if you're fighting a nuke-heavy team.
Whispering Helm 1850: Helm of the Victim 950 + Hungry Spirit 900
A great item that allows you to disappear into the jungle forever and emerge as a god. It also adds to your battle survivability.
Homecoming Stone 135
As a relatively weak hero in terms of HP and survivability, you MUST carry one of these at ALL times if you don't have a Post Haste.
Ganking
As the Moon Queen you are one of the most feared and despised gankers. As soon as you hit level 6, you are able to get free kills under most situations. Bottom lane is the easiest to gank if you're playing Legion, but in general, it's most efficient to gank right after you've grabbed a rune. So alert your teammates to start applying pressure. Head towards the lane, emerge from the trees behind them with the rune active and give out a Moon Beam right away. If they're smart, they will try to dodge back into the creeps, where they'll probably die to your allies. If they're bad, or desperate, they'll continue running towards their tower. If there are no creeps there, press R and win.
Team Battles
Unless you're high level and do a lot of damage, you're going to rely on other heroes to fulfill periphery roles during team battles. You're going to need a tank to draw fire, as well as AoE casters to disable and clear creeps. Unless they're out in the open, you should always allow your team to initiate. Remember that due to your team-clearing power, you'll be the prime target during the battle, so hang back and coordinate well, because once it starts, it'll end in seconds, either in your favor or theirs.
Heroes to Avoid
Ophelia: She constantly has neutrals guarding her, which effectively nullifies Moon Finale.
Swiftblade: Although you're the superior hero overall, in 1v1 battle of ultimates, Swiftblade wins due to him being invulnerable during his ultimate, and the fact that he has a skill that grants magic immunity.
Predator: He has magic immunity as well.
Pyromancer: He will 1-shot you.
Blacksmith: 30% of the time, he will 1-shot you, but you'll rage 100% of the time.
Your Best Friends
Behemoth: By far your BFF4L, he is the most powerful creep clearer that will also soften up the entire enemy team. Let him Portal Key in first and ultimate, then run in for the finish with Moon Finale.
Pyromancer: Another great AoE creep clearer.
Legionnaire: Another great AoE creep clearer, but he will also tank for you. What a friend ;;
Accursed/Jereziah: Both are healers and debuffers. Jereziah is slightly better due to his ultimate and the fact that his anti-magic works a lot easier.
Glacius: His aura gives you a lot of Moon Beams early on.
Moon queen is a hard-carry hero with decent nuking power via her powerful insta-kill ultimate (granted there's one-two enemies around) and her single target nuke. She has bad range, HP, and base attack but once you start farming there really isn't much stopping you. A BKB'd Moon Queen in team battles is sure to cause a lot of damage before going down.
Skills:
Moon Beam:
Target Unit Enemy Units
Type: Magic
Range: 800
Mana cost: 90/100/110/120
Cooldown: 6 seconds
Damage 75/150/225/300
Stuns for 0.05/0.1/0.3/0.6 seconds.
Its a simple nuke for a simple hero. If you are in a hard lane, wait to level this up (as in save the skill point, not spend it on aura/multi) and use it to last hit.

Multi-strike:
Attack bounces up to 1/2/3/4 times to enemy units and buildings. Deals 35% less damage per bounce.
Good after you have damage. I don't get this early because it pushes the lane and MQ needs to be nice and cozy near a tower to farm well.
Lunar Glow:
Radius 350 Ally Ranged Units
+6/13/20/27% Base Damage
Doesn't make much of a difference early and taking this over stats doesn't make sense until you have a decent amount of hp and damage.
Moon Finale
Self Visible Enemy Units
Radius: 700
Mana cost: 150/200/250
Cooldown: 160/150/140
Casts 4/7/10 Moon Beams on random targets in radius. Maximum of 4 hits per target.
This is your killing power early-mid and more of a supplement late game. The less enemies around, the greater the focus and thus a better chance to kill something. It's boosted by Master's Staff but caster luna is a joke.

Items:
Starting - 2x Duck Boots, Runes of Blight, Mana Potion, Health Potion and a GG branch or other mana potion with remaining 60.
Core:
2x Soul Scream Ring
Steam Boots (Str for now, if you want to change later then do so.)
Whispering Helm
Shrunken Head
Homecoming Stones
If game continues (and it probably will), get:
Wingbow
Geometer's Bane
Behemoth's Heart
Alternate (For easy games where the skill level difference between you and opponents is exploitable)
3x Soul Scream Ring (Sell as Needed)
Alchemist's Bones
Post-Haste
Whispering Helm
Wingbow
Behemoth's Heart
Doom Bringer
Moon Beam maxed is a given. Stats bolster your HP/Mana to help you stay in lane and nuke things. At level 9, multi-strike still isn't worth the skill point but getting it is a good trade-off and you'll start to feel the effects after Steam Boots + Whispering Helm when you have decent dmg. Steamboots give you HP while increasing AS If you feel like going on a farming spree, get Post Haste. Shrunken Head lets you live through team battles/gank attempts. Whispering Helm is explained below.
Tips:
1. The AoE on your ult isn't very large. Try to keep target right inside of Moon Finale zone because many players think being near creeps will save them. This is kinda hard to illustrate without screens. meh.
2. Stack ancients with whispering helm. Dominate a bulky creep with whispering helm and send him outside your ancient camp. At time X:53, have the creep go into the ancient's aggro zone and make him run away from the camp. This will 'stack' the camp, making more ancients spawn in addition to the ones already there. This can be done many times and you can get ancients to fill up the screen. Then after some +dmg go kill them all. Don't do this if enemy team has a Legionaire.
3. Don't initiate team battles. At least not until late game when you can live through 4-5 heroes focusing you.
4. If someone on your team isn't warding, then do it yourself. Buy Wards of Sight and place them on strategic points (Look up a warding guide if you don't know where to do so). Catching lone heroes is an almost guaranteed kill with your ult up.
5. After BKB act a little more ballsy. You are now superman, afterall.

Optional: Take Multi Strike if you face melee heroes in the lane. Last two levels of Multi strike can be got later, after Lunar glow (at lvl 15 and 17). 1-2 levels of multistrike is however very good before lunar glow for jungling/fast farm purposes. if your hero deals 100 damage, the first bounce does 65 damage, and the second 42,5 (100% damage incrase in the jungle), the third, 27,5 the fourth 18 damage. Do however you want.
